The frustration and potential loss of business caused by the use of outmoded legacy application systems has just ended thanks to a remarkable new product being distributed by Sterland Software.

Sterland Software became aware of WinFAST when it was successfully used by sister company Sterland Computing to modernise its highly functional but outmoded legacy system without the need for a complete rewrite.

“The cost of the product rewrite over three years was estimated at $4 million in programming,” said Sterland Computing’s General Manager, Greg Thomas. “This cost was purely the direct cost of re-development and did not include the impact of slowing sales due to the aged look and feel of the character-based version of the software over the re-development period.

“Using WinFAST, one senior programming analyst was able to convert our character-based application to a complete Windows GUI front end in less than three months at a greatly reduced cost.

“We believe WinFAST is like no other tool we have previously seen.”
